Jim founded Vicour in January of 2003 after resigning his position as a Vice President with Legg Mason’s Investment Banking practice. As an investment banker, Jim worked primarily in the firm’s Strategic Advisory Group, leading sale assignments and raising private equity capital. Previously, Jim was employed with Ernst & Young, executing audit and consulting assignments in its Gulf Coast Entrepreneurial Services practice. Jim currently serves as Chairman of Calvert Wholesale Florists and is a co-founder and board member of Pangea Floral Group, a U.S. and Colombian multi-national entity providing sourcing and logistics services to the global cut flower industry. Additionally, Jim is actively involved in several not-for-profit organizations in Baltimore, including serving as an officer and board member of Keswick Multi-Care, Inc., a senior residential-based heath care system and Keswick Foundation. Jim has an MBA from the College of William and Mary, an undergraduate degree in Business with a focus on Accounting from the University of Richmond and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Tim joined Vicour in December of 2005 after resigning his position as Executive Director of Catapult Online, a subsidiary of Educate, Inc. Prior to that, Tim was the Director of Sales & Business Development for Intelliseek Inc., a technology start-up provider of web-based marketing intelligence and Consumer Generated Media (CGM) measurement solutions. Tim began his career servicing Fortune 500 companies in a range of industries as a consultant with Accenture. Tim is currently the President of AKJ Books. Additionally, Tim works with a number of non-profits in Baltimore and is a member of the 2007 class of Leadership Baltimore. Tim is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Richmond and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Steve joined Vicour in February of 2007 from Stifel Nicolaus (formerly Legg Mason) from which he resigned as a Principal. Steve was with Stifel Nicolaus/Legg Mason for eight years where he provided investment banking services primarily to IT service companies and federal government contractors. He executed a range of transactions including representing buyers and sellers, raising private capital and raising public equity. Prior to graduate business school at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, Steve worked as an economic development consultant with the World Bank in several locations, including Mongolia and Belarus. He currently serves as President of Chesapeake Ceramics. Steve’s other academic credentials include an MA in International Relations from Johns Hopkins and a BA from Drew University where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
Barry joined Vicour in January of 2009 from Stifel Nicolas, Inc. where he served as a Managing Director in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group. In the course of his career, Barry has provided financial and strategic advice to a variety of Fortune 500 companies and a wide range of public and privately-owned real estate companies.
Prior to working at Stifel, Barry was a Senior Equity Research analyst in the Real Estate Equity Research Group at Alex. Brown & Sons where he provided equity research coverage for publicly-owned real estate companies. He was then a Director in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group at BT Alex. Brown where he provided corporate finance advice to public and privately-owned real estate companies, and then a Director in the Large Cap Investment Banking Group at Deutsche Bank Securities where he helped create the firm's investment banking model for covering large cap/ "Fortune 200" companies as well as provided corporate finance advice to those companies.
Barry is a Certified Public Accountant, earned his B.B.A. from Howard University, and his M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Barry serves as a Director on the Foundation Board at Coppin State University where he is Chairman of the Real Estate Committee, a Director on the Foundation Board of the Park School in Baltimore, a Director on the Board of Enterprise Community Investment, a member of The Greater Baltimore Committee's Leadership Program and a member of the Trustee Board at the First Baptist Church of Guilford in Columbia, Maryland where he chairs the Finance Committee. Barry, with his wife Christel and two children, live in Howard County, Maryland.
